Okay, so I ran into this super annoying bug today while playing, and I just had to share my experience and how I (sort of) dealt with it. It’s all about the “Way of the Primordial Blade” and getting stuck in a “Promised Duel.” Sound familiar to anyone?
The Setup
I was cruising along, feeling pretty good about my character build. I’d finally gotten my hands on the Primordial Blade – you know, the one everyone’s been talking about? – and I was ready to test it out. I triggered the “Way of the Primordial Blade” quest, everything was going smoothly… until it wasn’t.
The Bug Hits
The quest led me to this “Promised Duel” situation. Basically, you’re supposed to have this epic one-on-one fight. I entered the duel area, the music swelled, the opponent appeared… and then nothing. We just stood there, staring at each other like a couple of idiots. No attacks, no dialogue, just… awkward silence. I tried everything I could think of:
- Running around: Maybe I needed to trigger something by moving? Nope.
- Spamming attacks: I mashed every button on my controller. Nothing happened.
- Trying different spells: Figured maybe a specific spell would break the stalemate. Still nothing.
- Reloading the game: Classic move, right? Closed the game, restarted… and found myself right back in the same frozen duel.
- Leaving to the main menu. Load back in. Nope.
I was starting to get seriously frustrated. I mean, I’d spent hours getting to this point, and now I was stuck in this bugged-out duel with no way to progress. It felt like the game was just mocking me.
The (Imperfect) Workaround
So I figured out a way around.
After, the duel would trigger, and after that I could get out fine.
It’s not a perfect solution, I know. But hey, at least I could finally move on with the quest! I’m hoping the developers patch this soon, because it’s a pretty major issue. Has anyone else run into this? And if so, did you find any other workarounds?
