Okay, so here’s my little adventure with the whole “xqc monkey app” thing.
I saw some chatter online about this xqc monkey app, and, well, I got curious. You know, the usual FOMO. I’m no tech wizard, but I figured, “Hey, how hard can it be?” Famous last words, right?
First Steps (aka Stumbling in the Dark)
First, I tried to, you know, just find the thing. I googled it, naturally. Lots of random forum posts, some confusing videos, and zero clear instructions. It was like trying to assemble IKEA furniture without the manual, except the furniture was also invisible.
Getting My Hands Dirty (and Confused)
I eventually figured out I needed to, like, get some files. Not gonna lie, I felt like I was downloading something I shouldn’t. All these weird names, extensions I’d never seen before…it was a whole new world. A world of potential viruses, probably.
- Downloaded a zip file from somewhere that seemed kinda legit.
- Unzipped it. More weird files. Yay?
- Found something that looked like an installer. Double-clicked.
The “Incident” (aka Why My Computer Hated Me)
So, yeah, about that installer… It didn’t, uh, install anything. At least, not anything I wanted. My computer started making noises like a dying walrus, and a bunch of windows popped up that I couldn’t close. Panic mode activated!
I force-quit everything I could. I ran my antivirus, like, five times. I even considered throwing my computer out the window and starting a new life as a shepherd. But I spent, 2 hours fixing this. I even had to restore my pc using older restore point.
Lessons Learned (aka Don’t Be Like Me)
In the end, after what felt like an eternity of tech support forums and frantic Googling, I managed to get my computer back to normal. Did I ever get the monkey app working? Nope. Do I regret trying? Kinda. Would I do it again? Probably not.
I am never gonna touch that app again.
The moral of the story, folks: sometimes, curiosity does kill the cat. Or, at least, it gives the cat a massive headache and a newfound appreciation for pre-installed apps.
