Okay, here’s my attempt at a blog post in the style you described, about my “Elden Ring” Strength/Faith build journey for “Shadow of the Erdtree”:
Alright, so, “Shadow of the Erdtree” dropped, and like everyone else, I immediately jumped back into “Elden Ring.” My old character was a pure mage, all sparkly and stuff, but this time? I wanted to get my hands dirty. I craved the feeling of bonk. So I decided: Strength/Faith. Big weapons, big miracles, big damage.

The Early Grind
First, I started a new character – gotta experience it fresh, you know? I picked the Confessor class, because, well, it felt right. The early game was…rough. My little sword felt like a toothpick against those early bosses. But I persevered, slowly leveling up Strength and Faith, grabbing every Golden Seed and Sacred Tear I could find. My main weapon? The trusty Broadsword. Serviceable, but not exciting.
Finding My Footing
Then, I stumbled upon the Golden Halberd. Oh boy. That thing hits. Suddenly, I felt like a god. I started experimenting with different Ashes of War, trying to find that perfect blend of power and holy-ness. I settled on Sacred Blade for a while – that extra holy damage was chef’s kiss. My incantations were pretty basic at this point: some healing, some buffs, and the occasional lightning spear for ranged attacks.
I pushed through Limgrave and Liurnia, getting stronger with each boss I defeated. I remember the fight against that dragon in the lake – I finally felt like my build was coming together. I could tank hits, dish out damage, and heal myself. It was glorious!
Mid-Game Power Spike
The real turning point was when I got my hands on the Blasphemous Blade. Talk about a weapon! The life steal on that thing is insane, and it just looks awesome. I immediately upgraded it as much as I could and started experimenting with new incantations. Flame Grant Me Strength became my best friend, and I even started using some of those fancy dragon communion incantations. Rotten Breath? Yes, please.
I remember a time, that my attack was very powerful.
Conquering the DLC (Hopefully)
Now, I’m at the point to get ready, with a fully upgraded Blasphemous Blade, a solid arsenal of incantations, and a whole lot of confidence. My stats are focused on Strength, Faith, and Vigor, with a bit of Mind and Endurance thrown in. I’m wearing a mix of armor that looks cool and offers decent protection. I even managed to get all the necklace to carry more weapon.

- Main Weapon: Blasphemous Blade +10
- Secondary Weapon:Some big club I found, just in case
- Incantations: Flame Grant Me Strength, Golden Vow, various healing spells, Rotten Breath, and some others I swap in and out
- Armor: Whatever looks cool and doesn’t make me fat roll
I’m not saying I’m going to breeze through “Shadow of the Erdtree.” I know it’s going to be tough. But I feel ready. I’ve got a build that I’m comfortable with, that I enjoy playing, and that can handle pretty much anything the game throws at me. Bring it on, Miquella!
I defeated my target, and I’m so proud of myself.
