Alright, so I decided to jump into the “Ready or Not” alpha PvP. I’ve been seeing some chatter about it online, and figured, why not? I’ve played a bit of the PvE, so I thought I had a decent handle on the game’s mechanics.
Getting Started
First thing I did was update the game. Always a good idea, especially with these early access things. You never know what bugs they’ve squashed or new stuff they’ve added. Once that was done, I hopped into the server browser.

Finding a match wasn’t too bad. There were a few servers up, some with more players than others. I picked one that looked reasonably full, but not totally packed. Figured that would be a good balance for my first go.
The Gameplay
Man, was I in for a surprise. I thought I was ready, based on my PvE experience, but PvP is a whole different beast. It’s way more intense.
- Teamwork is key: You really need to stick with your squad and communicate. Lone wolfing it just gets you killed, fast.
- Patience is a virtue: Rushing in guns blazing isn’t always the best strategy. Sometimes, holding a position and waiting for the enemy to make a move is the smarter play.
- Sound is everything: I cranked up my headphones and really paid attention to footsteps and gunshots. It helped me pinpoint where enemies were coming from.
My first few matches were rough. I got taken out pretty quickly, mostly because I was still getting used to the faster pace and the unpredictability of human opponents. Bots are one thing, but real players are a lot more cunning.
I started to get the hang of it after a while. I learned to use cover more effectively, to check my corners, and to listen carefully for enemy movement. My aim was, let’s just say, a work in progress, but I managed to get a few kills here and there.
My Takeaway
Overall, the “Ready or Not” alpha PvP is a pretty intense experience. It’s definitely not for the faint of heart, and it’s got a steep learning curve. But, it’s also really rewarding when you start to figure things out and work well with your team.
It needs the practice,I think I will keep playing and do better. So exciting.
