Okay, so I’ve been hyped about Marvel Rivals since they announced it. And Storm? My absolute favorite. I had to try and get a feel for her gameplay, so I dug in.
Diving into Gameplay Footage
First, I watched every single trailer and gameplay snippet I could find. I mean, everything. I scoured forums, and fan pages.

I started to take notes. Just, like, jotting down everything that caught my eye about Storm’s abilities. It’s messy, but it works for me.
- Whirlwind attacks: I see that a lot. She seems to control a little tornado around herself. Seems like a good way to push enemies back, or maybe even lift them up?
- Lightning strikes: Of course, she has lightning! It looks like some are targeted, and some are like, area-of-effect blasts.
- Flight: She can fly! That’s huge. It looked like it give her the ability to zip around the map pretty quickly.
- Team-up stuff: I saw a clip where she combined her whirlwind with, I think it was Iron Man’s repulsor blasts? Created a massive electrical storm.
My Initial Impressions
After all this watching and note-taking, my basic, totally-not-an-expert conclusions are:
- Storm seems like a mid-range character.
- She looks super mobile. Flight is a big deal.
- She has a solid mix of direct attacks and area control.
I even try to mimic her ability by using the keyboard and mouse to see how it can relate.
I set “space” as jump, and when combined with “w” “s” “a” “d” which is a very common setting in lots of game, to image how she flying in the game.
I put my mouse on the table, and try to use lightning attacks by using the left button.
The Waiting Game
Now, the hardest part. Waiting for the beta. It has been some time, and I did’t get any news for a new round test.

I can’t wait to finally get my hands on Marvel Rivals and really put Storm through her paces!
