Well, let me tell you, this Fortinet Championship, it’s a big deal. I heard them talking about it down at the market. It’s some kind of golf thing, you know. Lots of fellas swinging clubs and chasing that little white ball around. They say it’s important, like the end of the season or something, and someone gonna win a lot of money from it.
They call it the Fortinet Championship field, I reckon that’s the place where they play. Like a big field of grass, but I bet it’s real fancy. Not like the fields we got around here, full of cows and whatnot. This one, they probably got it all nice and trimmed, maybe even got them little flags sticking out of the ground. All them players probably have to compete in the field to become the champion.

And this Fortinet, I don’t know exactly what it is. It’s a big name, that’s for sure. Some company, I guess, doing big things. They keep saying “Fortinet Cup”, so maybe it’s a special prize. Then there is something called “PGA TOUR“, I think it’s like a big group of these golf players, all traveling around and playing. Like a circus, but with golf clubs instead of clowns.
They say the Fortinet Championship is the end of this PGA TOUR Americas thing. So, all the players, they been playing all year, and this is the last one. The big finale, like when we have the county fair and everyone’s trying to win the prize for the biggest pumpkin. Only here, I guess the prize is money, and maybe that Fortinet Cup thing.

They also talk about these players moving up, like getting promoted. They say 10 of them are gonna go to something called the “Korn Ferry Tour.” Sounds like another one of them golf things, maybe even bigger than this one. It’s like when young Jimmy got picked to go play ball for the state team. Big opportunity, you know? These players, they probably all dream of going there, get the chance to earn big.
Heard them saying something about a “cybersecurity” something or other. I don’t rightly know what that is, but it sounds important. Maybe it’s got something to do with keeping things safe on the computer, I guess, keeping all the data safe. This Fortinet, they must be involved in that too. They seem to be involved in everything!
Fortinet Championship Schedule and Players
They got a whole schedule for this Fortinet Championship, I saw it written down somewhere. Different days for different things. They got it on the TV, too, so you can watch all them fellas play, probably gonna be very busy. I don’t know how they keep track of it all, who’s winning and who’s losing. It’s all a bit much for me, but I guess some folks like that kind of thing. Just like some folks like to watch the corn grow, I suppose. Different strokes for different folks, as they say. The players must be tired after playing for a whole season, but they still want to win the big prize!
And the money! Lord have mercy, the money they talk about. Millions, they say. Millions of dollars for hitting a little ball around. It’s more money than I’ve ever seen in my whole life. I reckon if I won that kind of money, I’d buy a whole new set of teeth and maybe a new tractor for old Jebediah. He’s been needing a new one for years. It is a big amount of money for the winner, all players want to win I guess.
This Fortinet Championship field, it’s full of these players, all hoping to win. They come from all over, I reckon. Just like the folks who come to our county fair, from all over the state. All trying their luck, hoping to take home the big prize. It’s a big competition, and only one of them can win, I guess. Just like only one pumpkin can be the biggest. These players have been working hard, and they all want to win. It is important for them, maybe they can buy a new house or something if they win.
They say some of these players are gonna be big stars someday. Like movie stars, but for golf. I guess that’s something to aim for. A fella can dream, can’t he? Even if it’s just about hitting a little white ball around a fancy field. All players want to become stars, they all work hard, maybe some of them can become real famous one day!
This Fortinet Championship, it’s a big to-do, that’s for sure. It is a big game, many people will watch it. Lots of people want to become the winner, only one player can win I guess. Those players are very good, they can hit that little ball very far, very impressive. I hope the best player win, that’s the most important thing.
