Alright, so I wanted to mess around with the “push to talk” feature in Gray Zone Warfare. I’d seen some streamers using it, and it seemed way more immersive than just having an open mic all the time.
First, I launched the game. Gotta start somewhere, right? Once I was in, I headed straight to the settings menu. Usually, audio stuff is buried in there somewhere.

Finding the Setting
I clicked on the “Settings” gear icon, then navigated to the “Audio” tab. I scrolled through a bunch of options like master volume, music volume, all that jazz. Finally, I spotted it – “Voice Chat Mode.”
- It had a dropdown menu, and I was like a kid in candy store.
- I saw three options: “Always On,” “Push to Talk,” and “Disabled.”
- Naturally, I selected “Push to Talk.”
Configuring the Keybind
But that was only half the battle. I still needed to set up which button I’d actually push to talk. So, I went over to the “Controls” tab, then found the “Keybindings” section.
I looked for anything related to voice chat or communication. There it was: “Push to Talk.” It was unassigned by default, so I clicked on it and pressed the key I wanted to use – in my case, the side button on my mouse. Easy peasy.
Testing it Out
Now for the moment of truth. I joined a squad and tried it out. “Hey guys, can you hear me?” I said, holding down my newly assigned push-to-talk button. “Loud and clear!” one of my teammates replied. Success!
It felt so much better than having my mic open all the time, picking up every little background noise. Now, I could actually communicate clearly and only when I needed to. I was able to talk to others in my room without broadcasting everything to my team, and I think I’ll keep it that way, this function is very practical.
